House Republican Whip Sherrie Sprenger to serve as Vice-Chair of House Judiciary and Natural Resources Committees

Salem, Ore. – House Republican Whip, Representative Sherrie Sprenger (R-Scio) will serve as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Judiciary and also as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Natural Resources. Rep. Sprenger has also been named to the influential House Committee on Rules, which often serves as the forum for the most contentious legislation of each session. Sprenger was also named to the Joint Committee on Legislative Counsel. She will continue to serve on the Joint Committee on Student Success, Joint Committee on Legislative Policy and Research, and the Joint Committee on Conduct.

“I am excited by these opportunities to serve in leadership roles on important legislative committees,” said Rep. Sprenger. “As a former cop and long-serving member of the Judiciary Committee, I look forward to bringing my experiences to bear on issues of law enforcement, public safety, and the court system,” continued Sprenger. “Being Vice-Chair of the Natural Resources committee will also allow me to bring the perspective and voice of my rural friends and neighbors to the Legislature as we craft policy.”

A former law enforcement officer and small business owner, Rep. Sprenger has represented House District 17 (Detroit, Gates, Idanha, Lebanon, Lyons, Mill City, Scio, Stayton, Sublimity, Sweet Home and Waterloo) since 2008.
